Creating the look of our artist

For our first setting we wanted to create a look which was a bit different. For this we then googled things like; dramatic make-up and tumblr make up. From the searches we got make up styles such as this;

for our artist i feel its obviously too much going on and too bright for it too match out genre and things like that would be used in a more upbeat music video. Although they were off track from what we wanted we did still take something from them, because we realized how we need to make sure our make up does still stand out because on camera the make up may not come out as bright as we would want.

From searching tumblr makeup the search came up with a lot more images that gave us inspiration and that we could use in our video. These images gave us inspiration because we liked the use of glitter and the clean cut, edited kind of look (middle) from this we then kind of mixed our look around this. I really like the way that tumblr has more edgy but realistic photos as it gave us really good ideas and inspiration for our artist.

We used a basic make-up process.. foundation, blusher, etc... We found some sequins and thought we could place them on my face. We wasn't quite sure how to place them as we didn't want it to look silly or clown-like so we searched on Google for cool make-up using sequins... We found that our very own artist of our song 'Dillon' uses sequins for her make-up but in a more Gothic way.

For the hair, our inspiration was Miley Cyrus at the MTV music award the two top knots was how her was styled and a lot of artists wouldn't have risked this look as they aren't edgy enough to pull it off, were as Miley is pulled it off really well. Because of my hair being quite long we thought it would look really effective and needed something off my face too show off the sequins.

After we created the look we then went into the garden to show the whole outfit along with the makeup and hair. With the look we chose a lace white dress with black shorts and a glitter bra underneath the to a

dd to our artists look i think the outfit matched really well with the makeup and hair and would use this as edgy look for the video. We definitely accomplished what we wanted with this look for it to look edgy and something different too our look instead of them all being dark and mysterious!

The next look we tried we wanted to make our artist look like she had gone through a rough time and had been crying. To create this we used water to smudge my make up and some black paint to make it look more realistic. I think we successfully made the eye make up look like i had been crying a lot. We got the idea to do this from beyonce's music video 'why don't you love me' looking at the look of our artist and Beyonce i think we achieved the crying effect well. With this makeup we used a grey prom dress as we feel it matched the look overall as the grey added to the sombre mood of the look.

We also tried a third look which was very unsuccessful we tried too go for another edgy look but more focusing on the hair so we used to 2 bunches and then put a few hairbands everyone couple of  inches but it just really didn't look how we was expecting it too. With the hair we also followed a tutorial on how to create the twiggy look but this also went very wrong and just wasn't effective at all it just looked sort of funny.
